2008 Northern Territory Chief Minister's Export and Industry Awards

The Northern Territory Chief Minister's Export and Industry Awards were held at the Darwin Convention Centre on the 10th October 2008. Congratulations to Tiwi Design for winning the prestigous business award in the Arts and Entertainment Catagory which was said to be the most highly contested catagory in the Northern Territory. 

The award was accepted by Praxedes Tipungwuti from Tiwi Design whose father Giovanni Tipungwuti was one of the founding members of Tiwi Design in 1969.

Praxedes speech had the crowd enthrawled as she thanked the artists at Tiwi Design and Art Centre Managers Tim and Angela Hill for all their hard work, passion and dedication. We wish Tiwi Design the best of luck in joining winners across Australia who will compete for the National Export Award held at the National Gallery of Victoria on the 5th of December 2008.
