Meet the artists while they work
Want to experience Tiwi art first hand?
We can take you to visit the three art centres on the Tiwi Islands; Jilamara Arts and Craft, Tiwi Design Aboriginal Corporation and Munupi Arts and Crafts. You'll learn about Tiwi art, watch the artists at work, and have the opportunity to buy art direct from the art centres, at island prices.
What's included in the one-day trip?
- your seat in a charter plane (departs Darwin at 8am and returns approx. 5.00pm)
- approx. 2.5 hours at each art centre: Jilamara Arts & Crafts at Milikapiti, Munupi Arts & Crafts at Pirlangimpi and Tiwi Design at Nguiu.
- refreshments and lunch
- a Tiwi Art Network representative to accompany you for the day
The Tiwi Islands are Aboriginal owned and controlled land. A permit is required from the Tiwi Land Council for access to some areas of the Tiwi Islands. This will be arranged for you.
How much does it cost?
The cost is $450 per head.
